Conference is being held on Friday 1 November 2019 at Dockside, Darling Harbour, Sydney. Pre-conference activities are being held on Wednesday evening 30 October and Thursday 31 October.

This event has booked out every year for many years, and unfortunately, members on the waiting list do miss out. We encourage you to register now to secure your place at the early bird rate, and you have until 31 July to pay at the early bird rate. Government schools on LMBR, please note that it may take up to 6 weeks for CAA to receive your payment once your school has processed it.

Optional Pre-Conference Activities

Registrations for optional pre-conference activities are essential so we can ensure we have adequate catering and buses for all delegates. During the registration process, you will need to select each activity you wish to attend on Wednesday 30 October and Thursday 31 October. For a copy of the pre-conference program, click here.

Registration Fees for Delegates

There is one discounted early bird rate of $399 for CAA members which includes admission to all sessions for the duration of Conference, including Conference dinner on Friday 1 November and the pre-conference activities. This early bird rate applies to payments received before 31 July 2019. The member rate for payments made after 1 August is $469. These rates are not discounted if you elect not to attend Conference dinner or any of the pre-conference activities. The rate for non-members is $629.

Registration & Payment

To register, click here. Members will need to log in first to register at the member rates. If you do not log in prior to completing a conference registration, you will be invoiced for non-member rates. Places are limited and we do book out every year so please register and pay early to secure your place. Your place is not secure until payment is received. You may register now and you have until 31 July 2019 to pay.

NESA Accreditation

Pre-Conference:  Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT through the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW- is endorsed to provide the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient, Highly Accomplished, and Lead levels. Completing the Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT Inc. 2019 Annual Conference Pre-Conference Activities, on 30 October 2019 - 31 October 2019 will contribute 11 Hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing  6.1.2; 6.2.2; 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Conditions of Registration and Attendance (“Agreement”)


(a) Applications to register for the Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT Inc ABN 58 877 417  536 (“CAA”) annual conference being held from 30 October 2019 to 1 November 2019 (“Event”) must be made using the prescribed online form.
(b) The person registering for the Event (“Delegate”) agrees and acknowledges that CAA may reject any such application and shall notify the Delegate if the Delegates’ application is rejected.
(c) This Agreement commences when the Delegate has submitted the Delegates’ online application form. This Agreement will terminate at the end of the Event, unless terminated earlier by CAA at its absolute discretion.
(d) The Delegate must pay the fee set by CAA in relation to the Delegates’ attendance at the Event (“Delegate Fee”) and must provide to CAA a transaction receipt by the due date set by CAA. In the event the Delegate fails to make payment, CAA may terminate this Agreement and cancel the Delegates’ registration without notice;
(e) At the Event and in any dealings associated with the Event, the Delegate must act in a manner consistent with the good name, goodwill, reputation and image of CAA and in compliance with the guidelines and directions of CAA.
(f) The breach of any provision of this Agreement by the Delegate will entitle CAA to terminate this Agreement without notice.
(g) CAA may at any time and in its absolute discretion amend, vary, substitute, replace, and/or modify the included benefits of the Delegates’ registration including but not limited to the time and date of the Event, venues, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and the program for the Event.
(h) The Delegate expressly agrees to hold CAA harmless in respect of any amendments to, variations to or cancellation of the Event, program or any aspects relating to the Event.
(i) The Delegate agrees and acknowledges that CAA makes no guarantees, warranties or representations as to the material and information to be provided or presented at the Event and as to the benefit that will be obtained by the Delegate by participating in the Event.
(j) The Delegate expressly releases CAA, its employees, agents, and subcontractors, from any claim of misrepresentation which it has or may have against CAA and indemnifies CAA against any loss or damage howsoever arising or howsoever caused.
(k) The Delegate agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified CAA against any liability, actions, claims, demands, damages, costs and expenses (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) incurred or suffered by CAA in connection with or arising in any way out of the Delegates’ attendance at the Event and will continually indemnify CAA against any cost, loss, liability, or damage (whether direct or consequential including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill or loss of opportunity) that CAA incurs as a result of the Delegates’ attendance at the Event.
(l) CAA shall not be liable to the Delegate for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss or damages howsoever arising (including in negligence) including arising from the termination of this Agreement.
(m) Without prejudicing the rights of CAA, the Delegate agrees that CAA’s total aggregate liability for all and any claims relating to this Agreement and the Delegate’s attendance at the Event is limited to the amount paid by the Delegate to CAA.
(n) CAA may terminate this Agreement at its absolute discretion at any time by giving the Delegate notice in writing. The Delegate expressly releases CAA from any claims it has or may have in the event this Agreement is terminated by CAA.
(o) This Agreement will be governed by the laws of New South Wales, and the parties irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State.
(p) This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties in respect of the Event.
